Laura Lohman, PhD, SHRM-SCP, PMP

I’m a systems thinker with 17 years of experience in faculty and administrative roles and unique expertise in faculty affairs, academic human resources, faculty development, and organizational development.

I’m focused on helping institutions develop new and more effective approaches to hiring, developing, evaluating, and leading faculty. I have a passion for inclusive faculty recruitment and retention, for developing evaluation practices that prompt reflective and adaptive teaching, and for using sound organization development and needs assessment practices to identify the best ways to improve individual and organizational performance.

I am committed to using data-based decision-making to provide career-long professional development, build a diverse workforce, foster inclusive and equitable work environments, and shape faculty talent to adapt to changing contexts. Whether helping organizations, groups, or individuals, I draw on my strengths in project management and systems thinking to drive towards meaningful solutions that address the interests of diverse stakeholders. While my current focus is in the areas of faculty affairs, faculty development, and human resources, my work is always informed by my broader experience, which spans instructional design, policy development, shared governance, curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and student recruitment.
